WCP Solar was contracted to design and construct a rooftop mounted solar system on two buildings for North Central College, located in Naperville, Illinois. This distributed Generation connected system ties directly into North Central College facility and will generate an average of 142,262-kWh of energy to their facilities.
The two project is sized at 115-kW1, using 359 Thaisun TSG72 framed photovoltaic panels rated at 320-W. The system employs 3 SolarEdge and 3 Fronius string inverters appropriately sized to convert the DC energy produced by the solar plant into ACenergy.
In addition to providing significant energy savings, the solar systems will produce approximately 145 Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SREC's) annually and local rebates. It is estimated, that based on the incentives received and the energy savings being experienced, the system will be cash positive within 3 years.
The WCP Solar construction management team oversaw all phases of the construction process, including the day to day operations, weekly subcontractor, and Owner meetings, site monitoring, quality assurance and control, and scheduling.
Completed in February 2018, this project was another example of strong project management and leadership by the WCP Solar team.
