WCP Solar was contracted to design and construct a residential roof mounted solar system located in South Barrington, Illinois. This grid connected system ties directly into the Commonwealth Edison Utility’s (ComEd) power grid and generates enough electricity to provide power to more than 78% of the home electrical needs.
The project was sized at 12.48-kWp1, using 156 CdTe Thin Film frameless photovoltaic panels rated at 80-W mounted on a 37 degree tilted roof. The system also employs 39 power optimizers and 1 11.00Kw AC rated string inverters to convert the DC energy produced by the solar System into AC energy.
1 Estimated production of over 386 Tons of CO2 - Equivalent to Planting over 8994 trees or driving reduced by 772,000 auto miles, or 39,372 gallons of gasoline.
